^^ nice!
How is it when it comes to performance? Any great difference with LXDE?

I haven't used it enough to say much about performance, but on 64-bit Arch, LXQt with one urxvt running uses 154M memory. LXDE with one urxvt on the same system uses 109M.

That is similar to Mate or old Gnome 2.

^ siduction always had a sweet spot for qt, so it was quite obvious it would come. They were the first to feature razorqt (and lxqt isn't much different)

Question to those who use lxqt: which WM did you choose for it? Actually it should be eggwm, which I didn't really like. Pidsley looks like openbox.

^ Openbox but I read they want to switch to Kwin when it becomes independent of KDE beginning with Qt5. Still, it will stay modular, so you can always choose yourself.

That's why I am asking. razorqt recommended eggwm and openbox, and I had a go with different WMs inside of the razorqt session, namely metacity and eggwm. kwin makes sense as it is qt, but most WMs are totally free of any toolkit (those undecorated ones), so it would be nice to see if somebody had a tiler running in lxqt or so.

What's up fellas ;)

I haven't been by in a while but was curious if Master Bacon was planning on making an lxqt spin? I think the siduction version is for 64bit only so I haven't tried that one yet. I searched and found this thread so that is why I am asking here instead of creating a new thread. Anyway, what do you think Jules is this lxqt shit worth the time or /not. :P

edit - I must have been drunk when I chose this boring ass avatar

edit 2 - also, whats up with the false info under my avatar? I know what a fuckin kernel is http://s28.postimg.org/f6v6pub1p/Popcorn_Kernels.jpg hehe

Welcome back swifty :D

Well, lxqt -- I found it to be the worst DE so far and would like to give it a few more months to ripe. But yeah, as 486bit, why not :) (though, in my heart there is no love for qt5 shit lol) I will look into it and respin if you want, but you can also just pick the 486 Summer base, add the razorqt sources of siduction and build it up yourself.

You can pick your colonel in the user control panel ;)

Thanks sir. I don't actually think I will like it all that much since I am not a fan too much of LXDE (except trollinger). I am just curious to take it for a ride more than anything since it's new and shiny so I might just do as you suggested and install the 486 base and add the razor qt sources.

One thing I was surprised about when reading that the siduction spin is only for 64bit, is why? It seems like a desktop as light as lxqt would be for older or low spec pc's especially. I understand most new pc's today are 64bit but there are also still a lot of 32bit users who might use their distro that currently can not because of that.

Just my opinion of course, but I think it's still too early for distributions to only offer 64bit versions.

http://packages.siduction.org/lxqt/ -- there you find the sources to add. I guess a "apt-get install openbox lxsession siduction-settings-lxqt-paintitblack" will suck in everything you need for a base install.

I think they just wanted to have the 64-bit release ready for the LinuxTag (conference) in Berlin, so they took the amd64 because it might perform better. They lxqt is just a developers edition as for now, and I am positive they will have the regular release for both architectures. :)
