Re: Screenshots
#1 - purge thunar
#2 - use ranger, or vifm, or mc
#3 - honestly, I do 99.9% of all file management with simple terminal commands now
And wow, look at the activity on the IRC. Great to see.
And great scrot. Just before the one I posted before, my desktop was very similar; dark on light

Re: Screenshots
^ Did just that; endless color tweaking begins :)
Re: Screenshots
^ cwm can be a challenge to get going, at least it was for me. Since not a lot of users out there, adds to the challenge of finding ideas to work from.
Feel free to snag one of my config's off github.

Re: Screenshots
^Ahhh, bacon, yes! I just discovered that today! I'm really beginning to appreciate twm, the default WM of Xorg. It's actually very easily configurable, in a single file, just like jwm. Between twm and cwm, I'm sure I'll come up with something I can live with.
Re: Screenshots
^That is very nice, thanks pids.

Re: Screenshots
We had twm in "Sauce" and I have been using it for quite a while - it's a decent window manager, even though not the most modern one. I'd be happy to respin twm again for an own 'light' release (no gtk) with a config chooser :)

^Yes, I say go for it.

Re: Screenshots
Good idea. And it *does* work well, and it *does* not drive the user into complete disorientation. Thanks pidsley for the proof.

Re: Screenshots
@Gekko: lisp is an inferior language for memory efficient wm's, and being extensible does not make up for initial design oversights. (Note: I can hear an "I told you so," even if it's never said.) There is a reason that 9 out of 10 wms are written in C or C++.
@Pidsley: That doesn't look anything like Mir and Unity. :D

Re: Screenshots
^ since I'm a total newbie with Common Lisp I'll wait to know more about it before digging through clfswm source. It's running on my Aspire with 640MB of RAM, so 50MB make a difference in this case.
There has to be a reason to use this wm. Otherwise, why is xaos so happy with it? :)
