BBQ Proof on my new Atom board, on a persistent USB :
Ubuntu 13.04 netinstall on the P4 test box, just to try it :
It seems to run very well. Maybe I need seabizkit to explain the Ubuntu hate (no, please, I'd rather remain ignorant and just enjoy the system).
(yes, I know these are boring scrots compared to the pretty art other people post, but I'm a geek, not an artist...)

Re: Screenshots
Did you actually run the color code inside fbterm? It only works for me that way (if I set the colors and then call fbterm, the colors are not set inside fbterm).

Re: Screenshots
thats whats odd, i run the codes ( i source the whole set) or a couple of echo's inside fbterm. nada. never.
ctrl-d out of it.
I have a colour console.
I think i had it running once, you know me.
do you get something about - unable to change kernel keymaps? on startup...
thanks for the help, i'm a hopeless case 8/

Re: Screenshots
no, i haven't seen that keymap error. had problems starting fbterm not as root, though. didn't have that problem on another machine.
i put the escape codes in a script and ran the script inside fbterm. the colors it sets are butt ugly so you are not missing much.

BTW this is slightly your fault. haven't earned any cookie rights, but i'm nearly there as far as noX goes.
@pidmaster, as in a chmod +x script script - i'll try that, surely the colours in the script are ones -you've- chosen? the defaults are defaults.
have you checked this site? http://xcolors.net/ i've pulled most of the famous .Xdefaults from the cockmuff thread
oh dkeg has a lovely tmux.conf on his github. thats what i'm using - with modifications.
