I'm sorry that this wasn't bigger in the USA, but then again here in the USA, they wouldn't "get" sophisticated synthpop like this. It's over their heads.

@machine - that package has no installation candidate. maybe I needed to add a new repo to sources? I tried to install from source but maybe oob doesn't have the right tools. I'll look for a wired mouse to use to install, then I can mess with installing and configurating stuff. also want to have a look at enough.

dkeg, are you running a live session or installed? I have that synaptics package on a plain sid machine, and on Trollinger, and apt-cache says it's in sid/main. Have you done an apt-get update?

(edit) I just booted chili live, and once I did an apt-get update it was able to find xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (but not before).

Just change some values and you got it your way.

lol drew, on a live ISO you haven't filled the cache of APT yet, that's why apt-cache policy shows it has no candidate. So, it's not dwm related :)

I didn't mean it the way it sounded. my noobness was referring to the DWM configurating part after installed. hanks for the pastebin link. I'll check it out

I figure that being newish here, I should post what BS I've fallen in love with since putting it together a couple of days ago. Pretty soon (when I recover from multiple kernel recompiles due to my own stupidity and get bored) I'll have to try out how you guys make a BBQ dish or whatever you're calling it. I've tried out Boner and Proof before, and was at least glad to see something that I couldn't just use aptitude to pull directly without adding a repo (Ceni.) I get so bored with the "Muh new distro" just to find out that it's just Debian/Arch/Slack/Suse with a particular set of packages that I could just go get my self without having to load up a USB or burn a new CD.
