ok, so installing powerline fonts and all that crap didn't work. But I did clean up the prompt, removing the nonsense characters and added my battstat, so basically just hacked it up to my liking. Trying a different font for now as well. And of course a different wall. but fuck, everything else is the same

^ looks good to me :) installing fonts in debian is quite messy - some simply don't want to show up, or need a 'sleep' or change of order in the .xinitrc file. pidsley and I had this problem in 'sideways'. I check it for you, hold on....
