Fonts in action
Instead of collecting older threads into one I just make this section for all the possible fonts we grillers use or prefer. Post the name of the font or font package (if it comes directly from Debian) and their source preferably with an action shot so we already can see how crisp they look.
I will just repost Rhow's Noto fonts, I think they are very popular.
Sorry I do not use them here. We will just begin again. ;)

I come always back to the Liberation fonts. In the terminal you can see Liberation Mono, directly from Debian properly rendered with my personal font tweaks.

Re: Fonts in action
Boring adobe source code here. You can't really see the sans version in the title that much.
looking to change as it goes a bit weird on the smaller sizes. Although I like that I can haz sans, serif and mono all in one typeface.
I think 'hack' worked quite nice - anyway here's mine, now show us yours ;)

Re: Fonts in action
it is nice there is a whole suite, so browser can have a 'full set' also, makes things look fairly unified.
They are nice and crips thanks to your fonts config file - as they are not in the repos, they are a hassle to install, happens that I modded a script to help out from the ubuntu forums:

Re: Fonts in action
^ What's wrong with the colors? Too shitty? Ouch man.... time to switch then.
Fira suite, yup that's the one. I really like the thin, distinctive looking characters ("f", "j", and "g" especially) of the Fira fonts family.

Re: Fonts in action
@ wux: it's droid sans mono. You're right. ZZimgs currently works like crap. Haven't used it in a long while. Thanks for the tips.
@ franksinitra: +1 on Fira. Though another big one.

Re: Fonts in action
I've been with Source Code Pro and Fira Sans for so long now.
Yes, boring I know. :)

Re: Fonts in action
I'm lurking ... fun to watch ... but I will not ruin the thread with my tiny bitmap fonts. Plus they are in my scrots.
