Will there be an updated BBQ'd slackware ?

Unread post by akts » Sat Sep 10, 2016 5:53 am

The post's subject says it all. We're all moving away from systemd anyways and I thought a BBQ'd slack might be a fun project.

What are your thoughts ? Me thinks an updated release of bowlful should be made.

^ It's definitely possible. There's only one minor thing we need to fix: pulseaudio and all the crap it pulls in. And this is the only reason why I didn't bother working on the updated Bowlful after 14.1 (I do have the updated version on one of my laptops, but *with* pulseaudio and all the samba ling-a-long).
It's actually a question of time. It has been a busy year for me, actually I literally arrived back home today and have to travel again tomorrow. And when I come back my spare time is dedicated to Anorexia and Adipositas, but I will look into Bowlful again, soon. Very soon. I promise :)

(to be completely honest, I really really want to switch to Slackware as BBQ base :D)

I haven't that much time either, but I found something interesting.

Fuck pulseaudio, eh.. fake pulseaudio I meant :P
When I've got the time, I would like to try it.

It has been spoken ladies and gentlemen :P
We're pretty stoked about this bacon man :)

@Theo: Most apps from slackbuilds do default to pulse, it'd be a killer move if our community made the first anti-pulse spin of slackware :P. A wrapper script for sbopkg is in order me thinks*
