dnscrypt-autoinstaller - secure DNS

Unread post by Alad » Fri Jun 13, 2014 4:09 am

"Plain, old fashioned DNS is not secure. DNSCrypt provides protection against attacks and snooping eyes by securing "the last mile" from user to DNS server, in much the same way as SSL and HTTPS works."

----

I hate OpenDNS. Ads. Blocked domains. Logging. Fuck those guys. But I love DNSCrypt.

Here's an alternative. This script downloads the dnscrypt sources, compiles them, and installs to /usr/local. It then prompts for the DNS provider (recommended: dnscrypt.eu), and installs the correct init script.

Works in Debian/Ubuntu, CentOS/Fedora and Arch (AUR)

It's funny how we used to be able to do real stuff with rudimentary computers, but now we can't. -- ratcheer
