Salt is a really cool system configuration management and orchestration tool: Website. It's as salt-master and salt-minion in sid.

Poor guy. (Also for work) I evaluated Salt, Ansible, Chef and Puppet, and I have to say that I found Salt to be miles more pleasant to use than either Puppet of Chef (its design is more suitable for us than Ansible's is). While Puppet has a nice DSL, initial deployment (including mcollective) is a hazzle and the stack way too complex: a full-blown websever, rack, certain extra gems for random mco services/agents,....Salt strikes the better balance between functional complexity and simplicity of use.
