Re: ls++ - colorized ls on steroids
Nice, but a bit too much overhead :) Needs https://github.com/trapd00r/Term-ExtendedColor first, heavy dependencies on Perl. Well, have fun :)

Re: ls++ - colorized ls on steroids
Yeah its not for serious use cases :) and the perl modules and deps are a downside.
Oh and there's also this from the same author:
https://github.com/trapd00r/LS_COLORS

grc - More colorizing for terminal output.
acoc - Arbitrary Command Output Colourer.
color - Colourize arbitrary terminal application output using a config file.
wdiff - It collects the diff output and uses it to produce a nicer display of word differences between the original files.
colorwrapper - README
rainbow - Colorize commands output or STDIN using patterns.
pygments - generic syntax highlighter
highlighter - Highlights words in text
There's also some other variants thats mentioned in the Inconsolation Blog so you may want to check those out.
