It's in the repos, it's non-GTK, it's extremely resource-friendly: a perfect BBQ application. Use it together with xclock for the 1990s UNIX feeling :)
Be sure to read the manpage on about how to set alarms, reminders, anniversaries and so on.

I had already xcalc (a calculator in x !) installed, so why not install xcal to confuse me when i launch my dmenu...
