Last 3 Resident Advisor podcast mixes were, imho, proper good. Downloads available on RA’s SoundCloud page (login required) or here.

François K - Deep Space NYC 2009; https://ra.co/podcast/854

^ A quick preview made me look for the whole thing. Great tip, thanks!

This has been the soundtrack of my writings for days now. If similar music happens to fall in your ears, do let me know please.gutterslob wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 5:00 pmProbably my album of the month

Re: Electronic sounds thread
^ Dub techno has gone a bit out of fashion, and sadly a lot of the great classic EP/LPs, were on vinyl only. Porter Ricks, Rhythm & Sound, Shinichi Atobe, Fluxion, etc. Anywayz….
I’ve linked this before. Long players. Brilliant. Worth the money;
https://echospacedetroit.bandcamp.com/a ... collection
Also, a label run by one of the old guard;
https://vibrantmusic.bandcamp.com/music
An overlooked (imho) gem;
https://anay.bandcamp.com/album/lantern
A mix, albeit more for the dancefloor than for writing;
https://www.eric-cloutier.com/episodes/08-tectonic
A SoundCloud channel with more good dub techno mixes, though their older stuff is (imho) better (more purist) so you’ll have to scroll a bit;
https://soundcloud.com/intrinsic-audio-sessions/tracks
True story - being stoned on some weed back in 98 or 99 and hearing Rhythm & Sound’s Carrier for the first time. I remember looking into a mirror while it played in the background. Saw the universe spinning backwards in the reflection of my eyes. I’m not the only one who’s made that claim either. Many have been floored by this track; https://yewtu.be/watch?v=iQP7z_FN2us

Re: Electronic sounds thread
Forgot to include this one on that list;
https://waajeed.bandcamp.com/album/memo ... -tech-jazz
A bit miffed I missed out on the vinyl, because the 12” versions (second half of tracklist) are really good.

Re: Electronic sounds thread
^ Thanks. I'm already enjoying rRoxymore and Marcel Dettmann BTW. :)
Re: Electronic sounds thread
OK, this may very well be one of the best music of my 2022 and I haven't even listened to the 12" versions yet. Thanks a lot for the tip.gutterslob wrote: ↑Thu Dec 08, 2022 3:32 pmForgot to include this one on that list;

^ Glad to assist.
Test Pressing’s mix excerpts from the recent Love International festival in Croatia are eclectic. Listening to this one currently; https://testpressing.org/mix/516-powder-5ive
Pull up the player at the bottom of the page for the whole list of mixes. Downloads available, although you’ll have to manually rename the files. Instructions also in writing on the linked page. Enjoy~

Re: Electronic sounds thread
Another possible AOTY candidate for me, this this one’s definitely an acquired taste. It’s more of a minimalist type of old-school style of techno — slow building, one layer at a time “hyptonic lock” type headphone (or treated room) mandatory stuff — that might not be your cup of tea; https://benkaczordial.bandcamp.com/album/petrovo-uho

^ Tempting, and since the holidays just started, I'll put my ears on it.

Re: Electronic sounds thread
Not sure how much you got out the stuff I initially posted in reply to this (aside from Lantern which you stated), but here’s another one, albeit more uptempo. Posting because I was listening to it just now; https://blkrtz.bandcamp.com/album/radio-rothkoGekkoP wrote: ↑Sat Nov 12, 2022 9:57 amThis has been the soundtrack of my writings for days now. …and if you’re still on that dub techno trip, here’s a cheat code,
search for Altone on Bandcamp; https://bandcamp.com/search?from=autocomplete&q=Altone
He’s this crazy prolific Japanese bedroom producer that’s been on literally every dub techno label worth mentioning the last decade. Find a release of his and you’ll likely be able to find more from similar sounding artists on the same label. Rinse and repeat.
Re: Electronic sounds thread
^ Awesome thanks, I'll be exploring these recommendations over the weekend.

File under my “ones that got away” section for 2022. Finally tracked down the double vinyl with the help of an acquaintance.

^ Well, you did it again, this is just awesome. And, by the way, Radio Rothko kept me a lot of company in the last couple of weeks.
