Snus is for Swedes, but I must confess, I did dabble in the stuff when I lived there :)

Awesome Slartie - love the beard and the history. :-)
I am going to have to delay mine a few days - I have an exam tomorrow and the day after, so no beer. :-(

I should've made the video last night. I let myself go full caveman during christmas break.
Good luck on the exams, and I trust Titan and I will see you in EVE Online after? :)

damn Slartie, that video taught me more about Pulseaudio and Alsa than the combined wiki pages i read on the subject. i finally get a bit of an idea of knowing how it works. thanks!
plus, great job raising awareness, as that's what it is all about, after all.

This. I didn't quite expect to have a history lesson when jumped on the bbq this afternoon. Well done, slartie, well done indeed. Everything was excellent; I would certainly support a podcast :) Are you planning to post it on Reddit anywhere? You have my upvote; I can't see how people wouldn't eat this stuff up. I salute you and the land of Kierkegaard!rhowaldt wrote:damn Slartie, that video taught me more about Pulseaudio and Alsa than the combined wiki pages i read on the subject. i finally get a bit of an idea of knowing how it works. thanks!

A Tuborg is a Danish classic along with Carlsberg. What can I say - I like the classics. I did consider getting some Stella Artois (for the puke effect), or some hopped water from the "we'll almost pay you to take these" shelf, but I decided to go with something I would actually enjoy, because .. it's my damn money.
A Czech Bud would also suffice. Or an Erdinger Weissbier. Or .. well shit, I just love beer.

Next: Dr_Chroot, rusty and honeysucklehunterhowmie :)
Remember to nominate (anyone can be renominated) and to mention a drink of choice you want to see featured for your nominees ;)
By the way, in China there's a habit, that if you have dinner and people start with 'bottoms up', you can nominate a representative to drink for you (you don't need to give reasons). So, for example, if pidsley is nominated, he can elect somebody else to raise the glass in his name. It cannot be rejected. The habit is valid here, too.
