Suitable for a Sunday;
https://soundcloud.com/extendedfamily-dc
Most of the mixes are of the downtempo sort, with some funk-disco and experimental/ambient/future-lounge (whatever that is) shit thrown in as well.

Opal Tapes!! Nuff said;
https://soundcloud.com/allcitydublin/bo ... mix-acm005
Decided to take public transport to/from work today, and was listening to this on the way home. Somewhere around the 5:30 ish mark, I actually said "FUCK!!" out loud in the train. Remains good (imho) most of the way through. Completely, utterly ashamed that I somehow missed this when it got released 3 months ago.

His Fabric 84 mix is really quite decent. Best Fabric release since Raresh's Fabric 78.franksinistra wrote:Mathew Jonson - The world will come around

Re: Electronic sounds thread
Be warned, it's a totally different flavour. The skeletal, minimal sounds - high on groove and rhythm, but low on melody - aren't for everyone. Check out the Herodot RA podcast I posted (on this page) for a similar sound.franksinistra wrote:I'll czech out that Raresh's fabric78 mix

Re: Electronic sounds thread
Not much to share in terms of mixes. Been mostly listening to my Demdike Stare albums on the electronica side of things. Just search youtube if you're curious.
Mixes/Podcasts;
PWOG @ Electronique.it

Stereociti @ FLUK

Motor City Drum Ensemble @ Dekmantel Festival (not strictly electronica, kinda dodgy recording quality)

TVTM @ Inverted Audio

Re: Electronic sounds thread
^ You asking me? Well, I dunno how much you like him, but I think Garden of Delete is overrated, and frankly, a lot of his stuff I find overly strident and fatiguing, but that's just me. The whole "experimental/avantgarde" movement has always been polarizing. One man's hero might be another man's terrorist, as they say. I liked 2011's Replica when I heard it though. Generally, I prefer my ambient/experimental more cinematic and atmospheric. It's all about density for me.
Re: Electronic sounds thread
^ Cool. Same here. Especially about the cinematic and atmospheric feeling.

Re: Electronic sounds thread
^ Just thought I'd share; https://prologuemusic.bandcamp.com/
They're considered a techno label (a highly respected one), but there's a fair bit of ambient stuff in some of the releases. All highly atmospheric. They've been quiet since June though, which worries me :(
Also, if you're liking Demdike Stare, I might be able to share some stuff if you want, though I can't promise when.
Lastly, on a totally unrelated vibe, just dumping this here. New discovery that I want to check out later;

Re: Electronic sounds thread
^ That's pretty fuckin ace, though part of me wants to jail him for turntable* abuse. He should aim higher now. Mechanical Jungle Demo, please!!
* If any of you can get your hands on a mint Technics 1200/1210, I suggest you box it and store in a very safe place. One day, after those things have been abused to death and the world runs out of them, they'll be legendary and will fetch a fortune. Maybe not in your lifetime, but your illegitimate kids could have a nice retirement fund.
Mixes....
Rho, if the latest stuff on Soundcloud is any indication, your countrymen outdid themselves organizing the closing acts at this year's Dekmantel Festival.
Nobu doing ambient like the boss he is; https://soundcloud.com/dkmntl/dekmantel ... 42-dj-nobu
Mitchel van Dinther doing fusion; https://soundcloud.com/dkmntl/dekmantel ... 3-jameszoo

Re: Electronic sounds thread
the turntable abuse is an old thing. you never heard of Christian Marclay? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIFH4XHU228
awesome dude, the first person to ever bring a turntable onto a stage, before the hiphop DJs started doing it. his albums are wonderfully experimental shit, as the video probably already indicates :)
will check out those videos maybe tonight! thanks. being in HK i'm missing the Dutch sometimes :)

ooh, he's Jameszoo? i love this track he did with Faberyayo, one of the rappers from De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig ("Today's Youth"): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRzAjW1s_ws
the story in the song is about two fucked up owls who encounter the police and then shoot them down like the badass owls they are.
