Not really my style of drum & bass (I'm a jazzy/atmospheric/drumfunk junglist) but from a technical standpoint, it's nearly flawless. This is how you use fuckin Traktor!

^ I'm still astounded disco music (sorry 'housey/techno') is still going.
I guess it's something you can have playing when your Nan is at the house for tea or if you are off your tits on class As, or both.
Let's get it straight, there is nothing wrong with it, I like old music, just seems weird when it's 'the new thing'

Well, it's more like disco just never really went away. It's always been around. People were always making new stuff. It's kind of like dub raggae in some sense - it might appear and disappear from subculture circles, but there are hundreds of guys constantly making dubplates. Actually, more than house, techno, jungle, trip-hop and acid jazz which many people smother credit on, I'd say disco and dub raggae were the two main genres that kept vinyl pressing plants alive during the downturn.

So would I. My kind of jungle ain't made much anymore, sadly. I keep with the old guard, mostly. You know, people like Dev Pandya (Alaska, Paradox), LTJ Bukem, Marcus Intalex, Makoto, Seba, Nucleus, old Goldie, that stuff.

If you like any of those, then you can download this homage to dnb/jungle from the old days;

Not to say I dislike the new boys though. There's some decent stuff being mixed/mashed...

I grew up on 90's techno on mtv. I've had a hard time getting into newer stuff like dubstep. Once I stepped back in time and found Scientist and other Reggae Dub; I prefer that over most music today. It's like techno where I can leave it in the background while being productive, but has a chill reggae vibe on top. Electronic style music seems to help me focus like people claim classical music makes you retain knowledge better.

hah - guilty as charged - you post a lot of links :P
yeah, I guess anything with an Amen break really, so thanks for the Source Direct - only name I recognised :)
I like these guys, https://youtu.be/BQiExWZuhDY Omni Trio - Skeleton Keys, one of the few albums I owned, along with Jungle fever '95 or something.

^ yeah House/techno/dub can be nice and un-complex, so good for focus music, the kind of jazzy squarepusher sort of 'braindance' Is not so good for that, keep thinking 'how did they do that?'

^ So that's how it is in data centers!! I always imagined they'd do well with a giant disco ball and some speakers blasting music, mixing it up with the frequencies generated from the cooling system. Gotta be better than a stinky nightclub.

Anyways, I've been on a weird sorta groove today. Started out all tropically, then I went with soulful/motown chick house. Must be the weather...

^ Thanks, thanks, thanks.

Just commenting a bit (because yes, I download everything you put here and do my best to listen to it all): Jane Fitz is fantastic and Lone is the house that I like.

I'll check these latests: I read "tropical", I thought "exotica!", so how could I resist? :)
