Probably too much, but well, I can relate to the lyrics: Timmy Trumpet & Chardy - Hipsta

I "discovered" Timmy Trumpet through this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EccF9ISUgEQ

Nah, truth be told 'Hipsta' (from that video) was on while I was in a store last Saturday. It somehow got stuck in my ears since then. I doubt it'll last more than a week, though.

^^ Lucky you - the middle child decided to watch 'worlds most annoying songs' which features Eiffel 65 - blue, from Gekko's neck of the wood. So now they request it or play it anytime they can - which is rather annoying.

Wux, you need to get your kids one (or more) of those Korg Volca thingies. That's what I did for my nephew last year (bought the Volca Beats module, used). My attempt to get him off that "wheels of the bus go round and round" crap he always listened to. The way kids songs get into your head and stay there; I swear they're subliminal satanic verses of some kind. Results with the Volca could go either way though - kid might channel proper techo vibes, or he might end up joining vic's EDM-Pop thread - so I suppose I should be relieved I didn't stick around (they live overseas) to find out.

Btw, Beats In Space was on form this/last month. Not strictly electronica (some jazz, salsa, off-the-cuff eclecticism included), but a decent quartet of episodes for Feb 2018...

^ Jane Fitz!!

Another one of your latest shares I'm really enjoying is Magic Touch's Moonlite Mix. Groovy stuff for my ears.

Question for you: any RSS feed (if you use any, of course) you recommend for some weekly dose of good music? Aside from what you link here, I mean. :)

^ Sorry mate, I only employ RSS for regular news (local, economy, politics, tech, sport, etc). For electronic music, I tend to prefer email newsletters, and even those are fairly limited. Frankly, I have no idea how I actually find the stuff I post. Wux seems to think I live and breathe the genre 24/7, but honestly, I probably spend maybe a couple of hours a week finding stuff that I'll listen to for the rest of said week.

My SoundCloud Feed probably helps to some extent. For all its problems, SC does seem to be good at giving me similar vibes via the "Related Tracks" section when listening to a particular mix, provided I don't contaminate my listening history with unrelated stuff (your Tim Trumpet screwed it up a bit and I got vic-like sounds rec'd to me for the following two days... it was quite traumatic). Obviously it works for me because I'm familiar with many of the names from various electronica subgenres, so someone else's mileage might vary. That familiarity also helps me "connect dots" when I feel like it. For example - I might think of a certain record, then I'll associate a couple DJs or record label associated with said record, which will lead me to find other records by said DJ or label, rinse-repeat. It's almost like mixing - a good groove takes you a long ways.

I suppose you could check out the usual suspects like XLR8R, Resident Advisor, FACT, Groove.de, Monument, Inverted Audio, FeelMyBicep and Truancy for RSS feeds. I don't bother because, frankly, they only cover a very small section of what I want to listen to (maybe 10 -15% of what I post here), and more often than not cover stuff I've got no interest in. Then there's the matter of how they present their content. Take Groove.de for example. I might skim their site to get a gist of what they've covered, but to download their podcasts/mixes, it's actually easier to head on over to their Mixes.DB page.

Was tempted to post this in the Exotica thread. May not fit the definition, but definitely has that kind of vibe.

Okay, this is sexy as fuck; Roland TR-8S Berlin Sessions: Steffi
If the sample loading process isn't a convoluted pain, I might actually consider getting one in a year or so (after they pop up on the used market), just to plug in some headphones and muck about, maybe make stuff to listen to while driving or something. For all the gimmicks Roland have pulled over the years, no other company drops a phat-wet beat like they can.

^ I guess it shows how introverted my tastes have become that I had to actually look up the Adele on Youtube :-/ .... Yeah, definitely not someone you'd expect signed to XL, but then again, it's not like current day XL are exclusively publishing rave and post-rock like they used to.

Anyhooz, the usual mix dump. High quality (imho) and quite varied this week; downtempo, ambient, house, minimal, electro, techno, and even a dark d'n'b offering for Wux at the end. Enjoy...

^ non-UK tastes - yeah XL seem to be into sigur ross sort of stuff. can't be blasting out whitelabel rave all the time I suppose.
the dnb got better when the amen finally came in, it should be the genre really, 'amen break music'

Probably not news to you techno heads, but my manager linked this to me the other day:
Streets of Rage 3 Vinyl Soundtrack
https://youtu.be/KU0ykOBFXBM

Which I had to check was the actual soundtrack. not inspired by or something - sounds amazing for the megadrive (genesis) sound chip it's like they let aphex loose inside the thing (he was of course doing similar sounding things at the same time)

^ I played the first Streets of Rage game. Was actually known as Bare Knuckle over here in Asia (on the PAL systems at least, not sure about the NTSC regions). Always picked the black dude because his flying kicks had more range.
