^ Aha! I was puzzled when Wux wrote Street of Rage. Didn't know it was Bare Knuckle. Very fond of the game, didn't remember the black fellow name, but i remember Axel and Blaze.

Haven't posted anything since I've been battling a nasty sinusitis/head-cold bout the last couple of weeks. Only just getting back in the groove. Some bits/bobs to share before regular spamming picks up;
First, some Bandcamp,
Docetism - Breast & Vulture
Always a good time of year when Docetism releases a new LP. If people ever scratch their heads about the connection between reggae and electronica, have them listen to this.
...and a mix to continue the dubby path,
Fluxion @ XLR8R;
https://www.xlr8r.com/podcasts/2018/04/ ... 8-fluxion/
Very OST-like (especially the first half) in vibe despite being 4/4 dub techno for the most part, I suspect @franksinistra (and his dog) would like this. Scroll down for tracklist and WeTransfer download link.
...and lastly, something (probably dubby as well, but with added 2nd-hand smoke) that @Gekko would probably want to keep an eye out for;
http://inverted-audio.com/dj-sprinkles- ... explosion/
Mix CD collab (not sure if digital download will be available) from DJ Sprinkles and Hardrock Striker, out 28th May 2018.

Some Albums and EPs...
Chihei Hatakeyama - Mirage [Room40]
I have no idea if the Japanese invented this whole "field recordings as music" genre or not, but they've definitely made it theirs. Must be something in that post-Fukushima water they're drinking.
DJ Healer - Nothing 2 Loose [All Possible Worlds / Planet Uterus]
The producer formerly known as Traumprinz, DJ Metatron, Prince of Denmark - yeah, basically the dude that put Giegling on the map. New label, new alias, same production chops. Vinyl only,
sold out obviously, so you'll either have to pay discogs markup or wait for a re-press if interested, which you probably will be after listening.
Prime Minister of Doom - Mudshadow Propaganda [All Possible Worlds / Planet Uterus]
Same guy as above, different alias. While his DJ Healer moniker is more aligned to ambient, experimental and breakbeat vibes, Prime Minister of Doom is pure techno. Master at work here.
Skee Mask - Compro [Ilian Tape]
New Skee Mask album. Don't think I need to say more than that. If you liked his older output, it's a simple shuddup-n-take-my-moneys response to this one.
Wata Igarashi - Questions & Answers EP [The Bunker NY]
Yes, that same dude that I've been posting a lot of lately. His usual psychedelic techno that somehow lulls you into this cocoon. Production values through the roof. The bass phasing (in the lossless digital versions only) is unreal.
Klauss & Craig - Momentum [Planet E Communications]
Recordings of two improvised sessions. Yeah, I know it's 2018 and the whole going-back-2-full-analog" thing is cliché as fuck now. I cringe every time some flavor-of-the-season producer talks about being "freed from the computer", but the "Craig" here is Detroit techno don Carl Craig, and he's been doing this analog on-the-fly shit for decades.

I used to have my djx, juno6, old tape deck and a shit all-in-one record player all somehow plugged into my mac, then ran rebirth 338 on the mac and record out to minidisk. the juno had a hold button so that was noisey ambience, the djx had some tape to hold keys down on sampled loops or fiddle with, the record player would do scratching (or i'd sticker up to make it loop) oh yeah there was an old FM casio in there as well. the tape deck was plugged into itself so when recording it would have a nasty (stereo!) feedback noise (back when tape decks had separate input gain knobs) made a whole album of mixed up stuff. needless to say the MD got lost. wasn't very good. not really any point me telling anyone this, might as well be people who at least understand something about making stuff.

I'm curious about the "somehow" bit. I assume you weren't using a dedicated MIDI card (you'd have listed it if you had, right?), so some sort of S/PDIF line-in to the Mac, (I know some PowerPC gen Macs had em) or did you jerry rig something? Judging by the timeline (Rebirth 338 should be around 1996 - 2000), most people would usually record to DAT tapes and line-in to the computer.

^ I really can't recall exactly - but not a stitch of MIDI. The DJX had a line in to sample so something went into that, it had a MIC too, Pretty sure they previewed both at the same time so I think something went into that. then all out into the mac. I could have possibly falsey implied it was all plugged in together at the same time... Probably live patching. I dunno If it had an 'in' socket it was used :D
DAT Tape ahahah yeah - I had a DJX - that's how pro I was and a
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Macintosh_4400 which was mediocre.

Found a new site with a good podcasts/mixes section;
https://www.orbmag.com/music/podcast/
SoundCloud login required to download though. Haven't gone through everything yet, but here are a few highlights from those I've heard so far;
Orb Podcast 006 - Isorinne;
https://www.orbmag.com/music/orb-podcast-006-isorinne/
Ambient and atmospheric. Probably right up Franky's alley.
Orb Podcast 008 - Ekman;
https://www.orbmag.com/music/orb-podcast-008-ekman/
Breaks and Electro. Somehow manages to feel nostalgic and futuristic yet psychedelic and cheesy (those claps) all at the same time.
Orb Podcast 012 - Kick Bong;
https://www.orbmag.com/music/podcast/or ... kick-bong/
C'mon, how could I possibly ignore a name like Kick Bong!!
Orb Podcast 015 - Zero Cult;
https://www.orbmag.com/music/orb-podcast-015-zero-cult/
This guy's been doing the same chilled, loungy stuff for year, and he's darn good at it. This mix gives me an 80's vibe (in a good way) for some reason.
Orb Podcast 017 - Androcell;
https://www.orbmag.com/music/orb-podcast-017-androcell/
Never heard of this chap, but I like what I'm hearing. Mix is all his own stuff. I'm calling it Rastafarian Dub Synth.
Orb Podcast 022 - Gaudi;
https://www.orbmag.com/music/orb-podcast-022-gaudi/
First mix I checked out, cos it's frickin Daniele Gaudi!! The guy's done everything imaginable. Starts out smooth dub techo before goes trip-step midway.
Orb Podcast 023 - Ntogn;
https://www.orbmag.com/music/orb-podcast-023-ntogn/
Founder of Hypnus records. If you know your deep techno, I don't need to say anything else. Beautiful stuff.

Bandcamp
Will Long - Long Trax 2 [Smalltown Supersound]
https://will-long.bandcamp.com/album/long-trax-2
Sequel to his epic Long Trax double LP (released on Comatonse), this time on a different label, Smalltown Supersound. If anyone can do the slow-burning, smokey, melancholic-yet-uplifting chords as well as Sprinkles, it's his/her brother-from-a-different-mother, Will Long.
Leon Vynehall - Nothing Is Still [Ninja Tune]
https://leonvynehall.bandcamp.com/album ... g-is-still
Not my favourite Leon Vynehall release (his debut EP, Music For The Uninvited, is still my personal fave), but possibly his most complete. Emotional shit. Very well produced. Needs to be consumed in order, from beginning to end in one sitting, though it's a bit of a letdown after the highest point (Chapter VI), imho. Still deserves a listen.
Donato Dozzy & Neel Present Voices From The Lake [Prologue]
https://prologuemusic.bandcamp.com/albu ... m-the-lake
Speaking of albums that need to be consumed whole, I figured I'd share this (imho) masterpiece from VFTL since Prologue seems to have come back from the dead now. Still does the business even six years on. Bandcamp streaming means it's not truly gapless, which kind of kills the effect a bit, but as a body of sound engineering capable of wrapping you brain in this lulled coccoon (you know, that state where your eyes go all droopy and half-closed, yet your concentration is totally switched on), this album is up there with the best.
