Niechęć (ang. "Reluctancy"), polish jazz/fusion band, they released two albums so far, one of them, self titled, in 2016 (though I used to sit rather in rock/metal ambiances, "Niechęć" seems to be my top number 2 from 2016 albums, the number 1 is french Ricinn).

Niechęć - Koniec

Niechęć - S/T - whole album

Because Niechęć is new band, not cult/classics of jazz (i saw Komeda in this thread btw), i am quite curious what will be opinions of yours, jazz fans of linuxbbq community, after rehearsal (also I am still quite noob in jazz topics, as I wrote, I used to listen rock/metal more - I am still listening to it though, I just broadening my horizonts :) )

^ if it's from Polska, it must be good. For a short moment I thought it has the texture of Solaris from Hungary [1]. Of course it's a different genre. The Polish friends do it well, I will listen to their full album this weekend. Thanks for the recommendation.

Ok, so now another one jazz from me (jazz fusion actually..): Jean-Luc Ponty, violinist virtuoso, he worked in/with such eminences like Mahavishnu Orchestra or Frank Zappa. Found his music on /mu/ few weeks ago.. Thanks mr 4chan :D (as You see, 4chan is not only animu or /b/ imageboards, there are some pearls to find)

^ I don't do Spotify. Only managed to find snippets of the album, and what I heard sounds really good. Also found some live performances on Youtube, but not luck with the album. You know anywhere I can find full previews?

The best jazz show I ever went to was an electric bass artist, Daedelus, playing with the jazz quartet Kneebody, which together the five of them make `Kneedlus`. I would travel a literal 400 miles to see them play again.

In-laws brought me back this from their vacation in Cuba: http://www.timba.com/reviews/dreaming-c ... eased-2012

Music's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50R31skkzWc

Interesting sounds, for sure. South America is the way jazz should've taken a long while ago.

^ the best IMO could listen to him all day long. A couple spectacular tracks off Miles Davis 'Kinda blue' are So What and Flamenco Sketches. Plus you had Coltrane joining in to make this my favorite jazz album.

^ I have Kind of Blue in a great deluxe edition for its 50th anniversary. It's a fantastic record, that opened my ears to jazz ages ago.

But if I had to pick my favourite Davis' (don't make me pick my favourite jazz record, please!), I would not go with Kind of Blue. It would be a frantic battle between Sketches of Spain and On the Corner, with Bitches Brew in the back pushing for attention.

The reason for Kind of blue as my choice is the modal thing and at the time Bill Evans didn't get any writing credit. Years later miles admitted and he got credit for So What and Flamenco Sketches. IRC... Miles has so many great ones and is usually my answer for If I was stranded on a island and could only have one artist. (and all the artists that came from his tree :) )

My first jazz influence came from Weather Report.
