Re: Reggae
I'm more into dub, but that deserves a separate topic.

Re: Reggae
i'll have some of this action:
(some reposts of the samples thread)
Wayne smith - under me sleng teng:
http://youtu.be/Wjw7m-BKmQ8
compare with:
Barrington Levy - under mi sensi:
http://youtu.be/yFEvdWHK7GA
Max Romeo - war in babylon:
http://youtu.be/2NHNIgYRKVQ
Are we going to do Dub, Ragga, Ska, and rock-steady threads?
Or lump it together?

Re: Reggae
some cool shit. bacon, that track is really strange, i never before heard somebody combine reggea with metal. i must say i think the combination doesnt really appeal to me. it works, to an extent, but i find i miss the space and bass and all that shit that you get on a great reggea track. dunno, this sounds to "full" to me or some shit.
anyway, who cares, that's one opinion, 2 cents or whatever.
dunno whether i posted it before but who cares. Dawn Penn - You don't love me (No no no): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mNPKNAQl4c
this seems to be the song of this time, where i can instantly get going once i hear the first sounds of it.

Re: Reggae
heh, I was just thinking in this rare-ish hot weather in UK about some Dub to chill too - actual dub not what ever comes up when i ask google.
To counter with some singing reggae which isn't from the 70's:
Protoje - Who Knows ft. Chronixx (Official Music Video)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzqFmXZ8tOE
I assume that is a play on protégé not literally 'prot-edge' as google thing calls it. Been doing the rounds in our house.

Re: Reggae
This is how I survived data entry working for my friend...(On repeat, daily)
Major Lazer - Peace is the Mission EXTENDED.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZSsOEq ... odZ_GioSj4
That 2 disc album, or shuffling through Scientist albums...
Love Reggae too, but DuB is the originator of techo, chopped&screwed, etc. DJ PLAY THAT ____!

Everyone steals Barrington Levy and Max Romeo samples, lol.wuxmedia wrote: ↑Wed Nov 05, 2014 10:36 pmcompare with:

Re: Reggae
If I told you the best record store for reggae/dub outside Jamaica was located all the way in Tokyo, you'd laugh at me, right?

Re: Reggae
I can't vouch on that, but I have 4 Chemical Brother's JP only releases/EPs from Okinawa. So I will concur to cherish Eastern record shops!gutterslob wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 6:53 pmIf I told you the best record store for reggae/dub outside Jamaica was located all the way in Tokyo, you'd laugh at me, right?
