Everything that makes a great sound combining all kinds of genres into an awesome mix.

I begin with Latin Flamenco.

Always had my issues when it came to fusion in jazz, but the duo sounds awesome to my ears.

Agreed; I am not usually a huge jazz fusion fan, but this was fantastic, Ivan. B)

Let me find something more. I am really surprised that yo do not consider Jazz Fusion. When I listen to Jazz it is mostly in that direction. :)
E.g., I posted this very often already but nevertheless. Spanish music meets Jazz.

Now something else but still with guitars, Flamenco meets Arabic music.

The masters of Jazz Fusion IMO, with a great 80s album.

Blood Sweat & Tears - 'Nuclear Blues' full album.

Not much blues in it. More funky than their previous ones. Must be something like Mark V or so, again with David Clayton Thomas.

A bit of Latin, a pinch of Arabic, and a whole lot of Jazz: Al Di Meola's Casino. My favorite album overall.

I love Al Di Meola, often from a technical standpoint, but that's a great album.

Because we mentioned bass players in another thread, let's not forget Jaco Pastorius, and his work with Weather Report on a fretless bass.

I was fortunate enough to see Weather Report live three times, once in a small club in the front row.

And of course Stanley Clarke, another great fusion bass player.

A little less-well-known band I would still call fusion: Pierre Moerlen's Gong.

I very much love first Pastorius record (a present from my sister ages ago): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNlKgFrDYio
McLaughlin is also amazing on another true favorite of mine: Bitches Brew https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNu8V_Dyg1E
