first post talks a bit about Herman Brood. just to give you some idea of the type of dude he was before he threw himself off the Amsterdam Hilton, have a look at this interview, which you likely can't understand cause its in Dutch, but still, just, look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pjl0NiUQkVc

btw, the interviewer is Theo van Gogh, a controversial and offensive filmmaker who was murdered on the streets of Amsterdam by an Islamic terrorist: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2004/n ... m.religion

Both of them were very colourfull people. For those who aren't Dutch, a fun fact. Herman was also a painter, and Theo van Gogh is related to Vincent van Gogh (he's named after Vincent his brother Theo). A few post above I mentioned Cuby and the Blizzards, a band Herman played in.
They recorded stuff in a small farm in an almost smaller village called Grollo. The result is a record called 'Groeten uit Grollo', and perhaps the best alltime Dutch blues album, at least it's legendary:

Another history fact, some former band members joined other bands and had some succes.
Eelco Gelling moved to the Golden Earring and Dick Beekman to The Ro-d-ys.
So to make it complete, one of their hitsingles:

If there's a metal musician i definitely love from NL is Arjen Anthony Lucassen.

I followed most of his projects including the latest one (called The Gentle Storm). After all the guy managed to put down albums after albums of awesomeness, including the last album where he plays a hammered dulcimer (yes, metal with a fucking hammered dulcimer)

the other one is Deinonychus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8lm7nLFrCQ

^ That's what I called musical taste. Arjen Lucassen & Anneke van Giersbergen that´s something to be proud of.

^^ Rhowaldt, ehh it was neither my choice but to give an example of the populair Dutch scene :P
Like it's said it's populair, and not certainly not my choice..

B.T.W. it could be even worse.. did I mention Andre Hazes, Frans Bauer, Jannes and Marianne Weber? :P
