Back to Napoli for a classic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6wEBW2dgr4

Early Daniele's recordings sounds so typically Partenope I could not understand it as a youngster. Not only because of the dialect, but the music sounded so distant to me. Which is, of course, but only later I would discover that distant is better.

^ Distant lyrically, or in terms of sound signature? In terms of feel/atmosphere I've always found Pino Daniele's (yes, I know of him) music intimate, but then again I'm not fluent in the language and undoubtedly miss the nuance.

Also, there's a saying in production/mastering (usually applied to mic/cab placement); Distance Creates Depth
Remember it. Use it. Will make you sound more cultured, if nothing else. ;-P

^ I meant distant as in terms of the sounds I was used to as a 20 something. And when I was 20 something he was already too popular and too much within the Italian popular music scene for me. I didn't know his early recordings because I wrongly assumed they sounded just the same. So good to be deeply wrong.

Something not from Napoli, for a change. :)
I like the sounds on this album.

I don't know why I waited so long to order the vinyl, but I just did: https://lleroy999.bandcamp.com/album/nodi

I missed them live not too far from here a couple of weeks ago, but it's only partially my bad because the gig was really poorly advertised.

^ Vinyl arrived today. What is it with coloured vinyls nowadays? Anyway, enjoying this from the couch at a proper volume is the right thing.

Let's stay on the heavy side.

Hyperwulff: https://hyperwulff.bandcamp.com/album/v ... g-kingdoms
Robox: https://roboxband.bandcamp.com/album/robox

Next Saturday I'm going to a small event here where these two acts are going to play. I was going just for Marnero to be honest, but then yeah, I still need my fix of these sounds.

^ What is it with your region? I saw already two bands live. One where I lived and just a month ago here where I live now. They were both from the region of Veneto. The last one from Cittadella.

The last one was this. I loved the band so much, I bought all albums and wrote even a review on Bandcamp. Time to post their last output here.

A great clip from the album before.

Hyperwulff sounds interesting and I already put Lleroy on my list.

^ Luckily for us, Veneto's people feel the need to vent their frustration with music. ;)

Thanks for the tip about Messa, they sound intriguing in that clip and I'll explore more.

Tomorrow finally I'll catch them playing live once again. I hope to get a cool t-shirt as well.

[I know, I am reaching an age when weird t-shirts do not look cool on me any more, but I think of it as an act of rebellion against the die-hard age-clothes connection.]

^ I also still buy t-shirts after every concert. Come on, they still look great on us. ;) And of course, have fun! My next concert is in a week, will be seeing Crowbar live for the first time. So I will be watching even older guys playing.
