^ That he is! I didn't realize until recently that he was the one who did the song from Vanilla Sky.

Actually it was done 23 years before the film, but still great piece! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGaqmvIEyaI

^ I saw him do Solsbury Hill live on tour, in 1977. :) (Sorry if this sounds like asshole bragging, just true.)

I liked "Vanilla Sky" -- and not only because Beth Orton is on the soundtrack. If you get a chance to see the original "Open your eyes" ("Abre los ojos") check it out. Interesting thing is that Penelope Cruz is in both versions. I'm sure GekkoP can tell us more.

^ Amazing movie, I prefer it to Vanilla Sky. Not as 'pop' as Vanilla Sky, maybe, but the director knows what he his doing and the overall pace is more balanced.

I have to goo for Jethro Tull, discovered their music over the last year and like "aqualung" the best.

I put Wishbone Ash here, for no good reason other than that it's 70s and I don't know where else it belongs. Twin harmony guitars, like British Allman Brothers...

Listen to the whole album, as usual for the 70s, when we were too stoned to get up and change the record.

Alright, I tried searching but haven't seen this posted yet. One of the best songs.... of all time. *dramatically tips coffee cup*

Rush - YYZ

There are times when I feel like most other Prog Rock bands are just imitators of this single song; Spock's Beard, Transatlantic, and even to extent Dream Theater often have the same vibe. Good stuff.

Back in the early 80's when all my friends were listening to The Dead, I chose a different path with Tull.
Not everything they've done is a gem (like Rock Island) but everything deserves a good listen to.
Some of my favs are "This Was", "Stand Up", "Song from the Woods", and "Minstrel in the Gallery".

I *think* their "Passion Play" (which is also a favorite) would be considered progressive, which brings me back on topic ;)
