IDK what half these boxes do.. I think the cheapo radio is my stepmum's addition - so she can listen to Radio4 :)

This is just the stuff that was 'in rotation' the racks of other things are still half 'broken/fixed'

Wux, needle is OK, I tried it myself on the flea market with a vinyl. It is an audio-technica T4P.

^ sorry slob, missed your post, yes valve mono-block, bit excessive IMO but he liked it :)
he was quite into it, pre-amps, making his own crossovers. A project I want to take over, when I have space, is renovating a couple of pairs of quad ESL 67's
Those are, quite without doubt, the most amazing speakers I've had the pleasure of listing too.

On a sad note, I 'treated' myself to a pair of Sennheiser HD210's - had good reviews and even cheap sennys are usually good. These ones are a bit wack. Might need to some time to get used to them though.
Main regret is having these at age 21:

then leaving them at a mates house - where they served as mixing headphones, :O they actually survived that but eventually turned to dust.

@Wux: i have the Sennheiser HD 201 headphones. They are decent, lower-range Sennheisers. Definitely not fantastic, but still really good sound. Maybe indeed get used to them. The audiophiles will tell you they need to "burn in" :D

I had always great Sennheiser's, only one pair is not on par with the rest but still relatively usable, e.g. for watching movies instead listening to music.

Yeah, burn in... plus points are that they are very comfy, and they look classy :)

Decided to by an all-in-one solution, do not kill me. :) At least it comes with a good record player from Dual.

I will connect it with good speakers I already have or even buy new ones because the speakers that come with it will be relatively crappy.

Dual is my childhood :) Back in the day I had two dual 1224 record players, those were really nice.

A couple of day ago I arranged a new toy for my son. It's a good thing we lived in the countryside of the Netherlands ;) The picture is crappy, but it's a Dynacord Eminent II amplifier (partial transistor and the better half are EL34 tubes).

Wux, my son is playing an electic guitar but it's also a fine replacement for his pc-speakerset too :P But no worries.. he likes old rock and metal (Deep Purple, Iron Maiden..). So a tube amplifier is perfect and a neighbour who isn't much at home works too :)
