"'Tis a pity she's a whore" maybe? Naaah :D

Well, I could live with "Space Oddity", in this case ;)

Decided to give Tin Machine a new chance. Listened to both albums a couple of times, and must say I enjoyed them. My recollection is that it were no huge success for Tin Machine. The first album did quite well, whilst the second did not. Maybe they were just in between the poodly and grungy times and just fell outside of everyones attention. Both albums sounded very fresh and good to me. So that is a :)

Now I have decided to try with two of his eighties albums that I know very little or nothing about. "Tonight" and "Never Let Me Down", I believe from (the top of my head) `84 and `87 respectively. What will it be? Success or slaughter! :)

^ if you like pop ... :D

"Loving The Alien" is the best piece of this period, and especially Never Let Me Down sounds flat and dull. Both in songwriting and production-wise. No idea what his intention was in the 1980s, it does sound VERY 1980s, a bit New Wave, but not really, a bit pop, but not really, most songs without theme or message. Dancing with the big boys? Da fuq ;)

tl;dr: take Lodger ;)

Even Bowie didn't like Never Let Me Down - Bowie being commercial didn't work.

In the nineties he started to get back his mojo.

Tin Machine is not bad, sounds like Garage Rock.
But really his bist albums are from the 70s for me. I mean yes, I love Bowie.

Thanks for the input guys, appreciate it. Well I have to bring the axe and slaugther those two albums. Not one moment to remember on both of them.
After that I decided to give his "Reality (2003) another go. I was not totally convinced earlier but now I think that it is up to his standards, but maybe not in the top selection. BUT, there is one fantastic song there, a slow jazzy tune that is called "Bring Me The Diso KIng", damned cool.!

The seventies is my favorite Boiwe period too, have to admit that I prefer his mid to late seventies work. But let`s not dwell on old sins, time to move further down his back catalogue, so todays Bowie session will be "Scary Monsters" and Lodger".

Both albums "Scary Monsters" and "Lodger" were very good. Recognized several songs on "Scary...", and maybe one or two on "Lodger". The first of the two were very direct and singalongable, whilst the latter needed a couple of spins. It is evidently one of his lps that has escaped my attention earlier. All in all a good Bowie session for me. "The Next Day" from 2013 is running in the background, which is a very good straightforward production. Not as jazzy and cool as his last "Blackstar", but very enjoyable nevertheless. Ok, I am finished now. Promise!

An ok version of Life On Mars from Lorde better than Gaga anyway.

They should have let Gail Ann Dorsey sing it - she's like a billion times better than this Lorde thingy. (yeah of course, BRIT awards, I should continue dreaming... quality != quality)

Just compare: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIGo7SqaZO0
