Even if nobody reads this thread, I'd like to post snippets or songs that were reworked and/or sampled (decades) later by other artists.
One example, "Regulate" by Warren G
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiyY8C5fdK4
is heavily based on Michael McDonald's "I keep forgetting":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjqOsYRQI0o
"Hits from the bong" by Cypress Hill
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaqQhdt1qqk
are the first 4 bars of Dusty Springfield's "Son of a preacher man"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjydOI4MEIw
MC Hammer (remember?) "Can't touch this"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otCpCn0l4Wo
is Rick James' "Super Freak"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYHxGBH6o4M
Let the list grow,
love samples credit where credit is due ;)

No wucking fay - I love this topic! Great posts - amen docu is cool, as others i have ripped, chopped and blended the amen and it rocks!
heres a couple of other classics
Rob D - Clubbed to death;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RudpFzGLbo
#side branch
{
which is way too over used from fucking toilet paper ads to game show music. I thought the guy had sampled it and just collated it, which would be fair enough. I tried searching for the original piano concerto - but he actually composed it based on Elgar
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=La727Hbly8Q so respect.
}
The Skull Snaps - It's a new day;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0_uMSd4xOM
in a similar vein, actually I have a record with this on the other side of ^ that;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mn3f_ecI3U
which i will quote youtube;
Crazy how many hip hop tracks this fathered.
that enough for right now. 8)

this is website i keep coming over, err across;
http://www.whosampled.com/ does your youtube for you.
we could post a track and either
spot the sample(s) or
who sampled it?
Might be a bit chaotic?
now that a bunch of obvious ones are out of the way,
heres another, slightly less obvious; but he's well sampled, as well as being amazing musician;
Bo Hansson -Lothlorien
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzesBe48Gh4
as used in,
Peanut Butter Wolf - breaks 'em down

^ Yeah, the problem is that it also includes 'covers' or songs that sound "similar":
http://www.whosampled.com/sample/205/Th ... e-Sixteen/
and it even says "sample", though it's not.

Sourcing hip-hop and electronica alone, you'd probably find millions of examples....
...... some shamelessly blatant, like
this track, which basically rips-off
Miles Davis - Joshua (1963)....
...... and some that mesh so well they you feel they were made for each other, like
this stunning house track which borrows from
Roy Ayers Ubiquity - He's a Superstar (1971) and
The Soul Children & Jesse Jackson - I Don't Know What This World Is Coming To (1972).
