SITHWM: Malgus (i686) Release News

Unread post by DebianJoe » Sun Feb 09, 2014 3:03 pm

It is with utter disdain for organic life that the BBQ hatefully presents BBQ Malgus.
2014-02-09-143606_1366x768_scrot.png
It is based on the Spring2014 i686 release, and includes:
sithwm, tweaked to match dkeg's red 2, and with the control key remapped to left-alt.
nano: because NANO!
git: Because only Jedi need to be told what to use.
st: preconfigured with dkeg's red2, but including source to patch and rebuild.
bsdgames and bsdgames-nonfree:
mpg123: because it's how to properly stream music to your holocron.
...and other amazingly darkside tools such as "mv, cp, rm, grep, sed, and awk"

Coming in at a whopping 305.1 MBs, it should fit on whatever clunker of a spacecraft you wish to launch it from. As I don't wish to lead anyone down the path to being jedi, it's left up to you to determine what to clone from the repos. No automounting, no default polkit sessions, only the darkside of the force can guide you. Others claim to know about the "darkside," but only the sith truly understands its power. No wallpapers or wallpaper setter included.

Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The force shall set me free.

Grillers are on fire lately. Nice to see you spin some darkside power.

Fair warning, ChefIronBelly pointed out that my dotfiles weren't being given to newly installed users. It's totally my fault, as there's a /etc/skel/bbq/ directory that contains them. chmod and copy as needed.

Not sure if I'll fix it, or decide that it makes you stronger to do it yourself.

Actually it is OK, because this is the Arch way. An unpopulated /home/$USER folder is like a freshly made bed. Nothing smells better there than a warm, wet fart.

Ha, and I've encountered this, but I thought that was normal.

OK, I've been playing around with this one for the last half hour or so, what a trip! As I suck at RTFM much of the time, I've been discovering the keybindings as I play. Very different WM, to be sure. I think I like it. Nice spin, DJ! It feeds my black soul.

Glad you like it. I have very "particular" (read: odd) tastes, so I never know how other people may take things I like.
