VARIOUS: Pringles (i686) Release News

Unread post by machinebacon » Mon Feb 17, 2014 9:42 am

The grill orgasmatically presents the new hybrid "LinuxBBQ Pringles".
Dedicated to Sean Pringle, the developer of a bunch of WMs (this guy really follows the BBQ philosophy), "Pringles" comes with three of his works: musca, goomwwm and xoat. They can be configured in the login screen, and there is an example .goomwwmrc in the user's home folder (as goomwwm does not need recompiling). The kernel version is 3.13-trunk, as non-PAE 686, very low on RAM.
Of course, thanks to pidsley's get-kernel script (or smxi) any other kernel from the mixed repos can be added (there are hundreds to choose from, though if you plan to remaster, pick one of the Deban vanilla kernels).

"Pringles" is quite no-nonsense: no GTK apps, but git and build tools for the WMs are added. Users without Super-key are encouraged to edit the config files first before launching the X session. Everything is well-documented and self-explaining.

the well-trsuted bbqinstaller as root.

Thanks to pidsley for reminding me to include Musca to the list ;)
