OROBORUS: Kinky Koala (686PAE) Release News

Unread post by machinebacon » Sun Mar 02, 2014 2:55 am

A bit off the beaten track with this one: Oroborus is a typical stacking window manager, so "Kinky Koala" comes with fbpanel and some GTK2 flavour (lxappearance, gcolor2) added on top. The Kernel is v3.13 from Debian, the default file manager is 'rox-filer' (hello anticapitalista!) and the default browser is 'dillo' (hello johnraff!). As a special surprise I added xosview (die Conky!) with some nice monochrome color scheme.

Kinky Koala is easily customizable, though the window decorations are a bit limited. The brave can try to import some windecs from xfwm4 (which is a spin-off). I spent the last 48 hours in Oroborus and found it a very pleasant and snappy experience. Nothing 'big' to write home about, but this also means that 'no news is good news' ;)

Ha, excellent.
I saw your scrot of oroburos yesterday and went wandering off to find oroburox, sadly dead.
Rox was my file mangler of choice a few years back, about the first thing to install.:-)
Kinky Koala is a fine name, perfect for an old aussie.
Downloading now, thanks.

Must be a bit quick off the mark, sourceforge only offers boring to download from the link.
Being patient.
