FLUXBOX: Tater Salad (486) Release News
ChefIronBelly is pleased to announce the immediate availability of LinuxBBQ "Tater Salad", featuring the Fluxbox window manager with disabled menu's and toolbars. This is version 1.3.5, a 32-bit edition based on Debian sid with the 3.12-1 experimental 486 kernel, fully compatible to Debian.
Aimed at intermediate users, "Tater Salad" is using the SysV service manager. Non-free firmware and driver packages ensure best possible hardware detection. With the bbqsnapshot tool users can create their own remasters.
GUI applications include:
- Netsurf 2.9
CLI applications are:
- tmux
- mc, ranger file managers
- w3m browser
- Ceni network manager
- moc media players
- newsbeuter RSS fetcher
- various other tools and utilities
Cheatsheet: (Be sure to check the man page for the rest.)
- Alt-F1: Opens a window
- Alt-F2: Opens fbrun
- Alt-F3: Opens dmenu
- Alt-F4: Closes a window
- Alt-F5: Kill the current window
- Alt-F6: Display OSD status (this is custom per system and may need to be modified.)
- Ctrl+Alt+Del: Exit Fluxbox (log out)
- Ctrl+F1-F12: Switch to the 1st-12th workspace.
All of these keybinds may be changed in ~/.fluxbox/keys. This spin does not use xbindkeys.
Username: bbq - Password: bbq
This offering weighs in at 318M but installs to around a 1G, starts X under 50M.

Very cool CIB. My religion (Obscurism) does not permit the use of fluxbox, but I'll break my vow and at least take it for a test drive.
