MAIN EDITION: Hot Dog (amd64) Release Notes

Unread post by linuxbbq » Thu Aug 28, 2014 1:16 pm

This is definitely the last one in 64bits for a while:

- kernel 3.13 directly from Debian
- no python, no gtk
- simple X session with cwm
- software selection very minimal: rxvt, dmenu, xbindkeys, clex, nrss, tinyirc, mpg123, ceni
- designed as Roast Your Own system, so: apt-get install what you like.

There is a README which will be pushed into your face after logging in. Read it.

Download the 282MB ISO at http://sourceforge.net/projects/linuxbb ... o/download

Screenshot you say? hsetroot -solid "#222222"

Quite nice, used this one for several hours last night on the T61. Nice and lean with cwm, these days my 2nd favorite WM, after spectrwm. First time using clex, that was cool.

^ Yes, I love clex; having the bash mini-buffer is actually quite convenient if you are playing clips through mpg321.

clex? OK, popped that into #! while downloading HotDog ...

Damn that's sweet ... might have to move ranger out of the away ... been playing with that for a while too.
Although I think they can live together until I get better acquainted with both.
