sorry to be a bother, but is there going to be a linuxbbq-elitist.iso.md5 in the release dir?
no biggie - i'll probably end up dd'ing the stick to the file, as normal.

I'm running Elitist live and very impressed. Seems to boot up amazingly fast, a very complete but not excessive list of apps, and very, very handsome. I immediately think of installing it on a partition of my girlfriend's machine. Well done. Thank you.

It's late so haven't had much time to play around with it. But am loving Spatula. It has everything I need in an editor. Recent documents, colour chooser, and some very thoughtful formatting and insert functions. It could be used as a word processor. Perhaps I will use it for that. I'm going to try and rip the package from it somehow so I can put Spatula on my production machine. No need for gpick or hexchoosers. A great middle space between the simplicity of leafpad/mousepad and the excess of geany. Super.

The rewritten BBQ system tool is amazing. A great drop down menu, very intuitive, and simple. A real addition to the BBQ range. Unique, and extremely useful.

Another thoughtful addition on top of the new bbq tools is Redshift as default, which is set up already. Seems an automatic config from the clock and calendar are saving any messing about with config files for it.

The dd tool is lovely. Very simple. So more intuitive than the turdy unetbootin.

This is quite complete as a BBQ release, and very, very fast and nice to use. It will be installed tomorrow.

Thank you again, Mr. Bacon.

Mousepad is in the menu but does not appear?? no biggy soon installed.
Conky:
As RAM is shown as %used maybe disk space should be shown as %used??

Keep up the fab work!

Thanks dura,
the files are either in /usr/bin/ or in /usr/local/bin/ so you can port them to the other machine. Python-webkit and python-simplejson should be installed (they are anyway dependencies of Roaster)
gtk-Redshift starts with the one-size-fits-all formula of -l 50:50 and -t 5700:5900. I thought the people who know what Redshift is will also know where/how to change it.
Glad to know you're satisfied so far :)

Thanks Neil,
- mousepad 0.3.0 for 64-bit is not yet packaged and will be pulled in through a dist-upgrade in the next days. I haven't yet found the time to compile it. The version in the repos (upstream) is still the old one without syntax highlighting.
- the conky - well, a matter of taste. It *is* meant to replaced by the users personal one, and is just served as example. It's there to show the time, the free HD space and the used RAM. I use a different one on my machines, so this is not even "my" favourite. A few months ago I asked if conky should be shipped at all, and the asnwer was "yes". This conky is from deviantart, a simple one with high ratings and as it comes from the author. Hopefully BBQ users will share their conky configs in the appr. section some day :)

Hello

Great. I erased mother to install elitist amd 64 yesterday.
I transformed elitist in "cou de canard farci"

Code: Select all

/dev/sda5           23G    6,9G   15G  32% /usr
I had problem with keyboard. Indeed /e/d/keyboard

Code: Select all

XKBLAYOUT="fr"
XKBVARIANT="euro"
XKBOPTIONS="lv3:ralt_switch,compose:lwin"
gives error in /v/l/Xorg.0.log : lightdm is qwerty

In fact XKBVARIANT="euro" has to be erased and everything is perfect.

Also problem (ok I read wiki or test another kernel like 3.6.9)
with Fn+/- brightness control.

Now Elitist is my working distrib on my laptop.

O.G.
