Just playing about with redshift a bit and I'm getting some flickering every few seconds.

Dell 1525, 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (secondary) (rev 0c).

Will try on 2d and see if that makes any difference. I really prefer using redshift now. It's wonderful (insert rabbits hugging smiley)

Now on 2d and redshift is working fine. 3d does work ok on this 1525, but not with redshift.

:)

Great news, i timed my reinstall!
well, i know Rhow's excited, officially the cinnamon install took 3.5 minutes!
(taking into consideration my USB stick is quite slow, could of used a USB3 stick, and it was with a grub install, could of shaved a few seconds of there, and hang on...

What can I say. I am surprised by Cinnamon! You did a very outstanding job Bacon. Maybe you can remember that I was sceptical about Linux Mint's Cinnamon desktop but you packaged it so nicely. It looks sexy and runs great. You see, Ivan playing with Cinnamon, incredible! I am tempted to install it on real metal but actually have no time for it. Anyway, I know it is around.

Again, you are doing a fantastic job! Thumbs up my friend!!

In all the linux kitchens out there the ingredients are the same. It's the mixture, the quantities, the recipe, the freshness of the ingredients, the chef's love/knowledge for cooking and so on... that makes the difference.
It's not the cinnamon or the steak or... tasteless, it's the particular recipe/dish/way of cooking inappropriate.
Cook the same dish in an other way, enjoy it another time and maybe it is delicious.

As Frank Zappa said: "A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is not open." ;)

On topic: Downloading "0118 999 881 999 119 7253 cinnamon" for testing.

@ivan: your sig just made my day :D

Forgot to mention one little thing:

The AwOken icon set can be installed through a script, the command is

Code: Select all

awoken

I just installed awoken icons on Boner. I have used them previously, before bbq. Used awoken for about an hour today, then switched back to malys icons uniblack. Not to take anything from your hard work of adding this script for awoken, which is very thoughtful, but it would be lovely to see malys icons uniblack, or uniblue, or uniwhite available to. Awoken I feel impresses itself too much on the system; it references itself through the awoken logo on stuff, whereas malys has a very subtle and stylish approach. Of course, it is no difficult getting malys ourselves once running, but if making scripts for icons I would recommend these. For me, they are very new, and quite different. Awoken is quite a big download; malys is like 5.6mb or something.

Mikey (swftech) has asked me if I would add AwOken to the BBQ and I told him that AwOken is too big (Clarity times three) so I offered to include an install script. It's not even documented... If malys should be added, I do it of course. Nobody asked, so I didn't care.

Cool. Please don't think I'm trying to piss on anything, or criticise. I'm not at all. I thought it was a very nice option to have aw0ken available as a script. I'm not asking for malys, just commenting on my own use, and the availability of options.

It will come, I promise. Things like this can be posted in a new thread, like "Wishlist" or so. I'm not married to anything in linuxland, not even to Debian (hint hint! A surprise is around the corner)
