"Howmslice" is featuring Harvey Hunt's "howm", a vim-like window manager. This is a first beta.

The live session opens the excellent README_howm documentation automagically, along with the overview of applications. Notable applications are, as bespoken with Harvey, the VIM editor, zsh as default shell, and cmus. No GTK applications are added at this time, but the full build tools and libraries (for those who want to track development and build when new versions of howm come out). They will be removed from the final release.

This is designed to be tested live only. If you attempt an installation, you need to change the login shell manually first (from zsh to bash). If you don't know what this is - don't install it :)

Please refer to the README to get started using LinuxBBQ.

It's a scrot from the previous alpha (I forgot to scrot the beta, but it looks the same). The bar is dzen2, howm nicely leaves a gap/space for a bar and has a verbose output for workspace info. Harvey did a great job with it. :)

BTW, sxhkd/cottage is doing the keybindings here.
