The Academy release is designed for those who want to leave the fast-food distros and down-your-throat desktops environments. It's a super-minimal setup without pre-digested applications, and as special anus-bonus it comes bundled with online lessons: http://linuxbbq.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2074

The only bundled productivity applications are wmii window manager, xterm terminal emulator, tmux multiplexer, GNU nano editor, links text browser, wget downloader, mpg123 music player and of course coreutils.

Please check this wiki article to create a bootable USB stick from the ISO: http://linuxbbq.org/wiki/index.php/Dd
You can, of course, also burn it to CD: http://linuxbbq.org/wiki/index.php/Burn ... mmand-line

Inside of the session, press [Alt] [Enter] and then

Code: Select all

sudo bbqinstall /dev/sda /dev/sdaX
# or
sudo bbqinstaller
If you are unsure, better run the ISO in live mode or create a virtual machine, for example with Virtualbox (https://www.virtualbox.org/)
