MB, I have burned two (verified) disks and get this, both times:

Code: Select all

EDD: Error 8000 reading sector 209175
No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found!
boot:_
Sad penguin... :( Coal 64, however, works just fine! :D

Edit: I know, I know, who the fuck still burns CDs? I actually prefer this over USB sticks. My T61 won't boot from USB ever since I updated the firmware. Been too lazy to get into the BIOS and fix it. Perhaps I should do that and try booting from USB.

Clooney,

I am not sure what this means, sounds like either the ISO is corrupted or the CD failed. Did you burn 4x or slower, disk-at-once? Have you tested on another machine per USB or in virtualbox? I have checked it right now and it boots here for me (USB and vbox)

Anyway, I will upload the ISO again with a new prefix (might take a few hours, I am right now working on something else) if it helps...

Or can anybody else check if the ISO boots okay? Thanks in advance

Erm, the T61, does it come with a 64bit CPU? (Sorry for being noobish)

T61 is Core2 Duo, so 64 bit.

Alright. Thanks DebJoe. Uncle Google says it might be a problem with the PC, it's quite strange because Cameltoe and Coal are the same base, I didn't add/remove crap. Off to check the md5 now.

Okay, sorry people, md5sum mismatch. FUCK SOURCEFORGE, it has thrice timed out today (also with Coal, but the md5sum checks out fine)

Uploading in a moment again. Clooney, I owe you two blank CDs ;)

Yes, burned it 4x, disk-at-once, two attempts (two CDs). Haven't tried USB, and I don't do VB. Gonna try USB later. I would hold off on uploading until someone else can confirm/deny the issue.

As DJ said, Core2, 64-bit, yes.

OK, gotcha. Thought maybe it was the Sony CDs, I have had trouble with them in the past. I think we're even, don't I owe you a rib eye? :D

Dr. Boner. I'll gladly pull the new one after Bacon uploads it and test it to save you a few blank CDs. My trip was postponed due to thunderstorms, so I don't have anything going on anyhow.

Cool, thanks DJ. Ahhh, thunderstorms. Had a camping trip screwed last summer when we left our campsite to go swimming, under clear blue skies, and came back to drenched tent and gear. I forgot to put the rain fly on. :(

So, this time it fits. Sorry for inconvenience, it was not my fault though :)

Happy Toe-ing ;)
