Re: BOXES: LinuxBBQ Cardboard (amd64) Release Notes
Just downloaded this, installed it, and tried to dist-upgrade. It worked (after ~250M of upgrades, and with xserver-xorg-core and the kernel still on hold.)
When I took xserver-xorg-core and the kernel off hold and upgraded it, my keyboard and mouse were dead in X. I had to add my user to the "input" group, and then everything worked normally again.
So it is still possible to upgrade this one with a little work.

Downloaded, dded to usb, installed to external hd, dist-upgraded with siduction kernel and rebooted. X still on hold though.
Re: BOXES: LinuxBBQ Cardboard (amd64) Release Notes
^ Thanks for testing. I am assuming it worked when you rebooted? (: If you want to try with xserver-xorg-core off hold, add your user to the "input" group before starting X.
(edit) just tried a dist-upgrade of a new install (and upgrade to the 4.7 Debian kernel) with my user in the input group and xserver-xorg-core off old, and it still works.

Yes it works very well. Nice to see that it is still upgradable. Thanks again for this box release. :)
Edit:Upgraded X, trouble as expected. Tried with "input" first, still trouble. Did the fix that wux mentions above, and got things working again. :)

^ What graphics are you using vic, and exactly what kind of trouble did you have? I am using intel graphics and did not need server-legacy.
Re: BOXES: LinuxBBQ Cardboard (amd64) Release Notes
X just would not start. But after installing server-legacy and changing the Xwrapper.config it is working agin. Here is output:
Anyway, nice to see that it is still upgradable after nearly a year.
Code: Select all
vic@grill:~ $ lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV620/M82 [Mobility Radeon HD 3450/3470]
