ROADMAP: 2016 Releases
Posted: Sat Mar 12, 2016 3:56 am
These are the planned releases for 2016, all based on the unstable branch:
2016/06/xx NOX: Lacipecsenye amd64
2016/07/xx NOX: Adipositas 586
2016/07/xx NOX: Anorexia 586
These are dist-upgraded versions of previous releases, with fixes if necessary.
Personally, I don't plan to work on X11 releases in the unstable branch anymore. Users can easily add the X server and a window manager of choice. packages-lists and configuration files of X11 releases are going to be stored on github.
This is conform to the BBQ Philosophy:
- TUI > GUI
- help new users to understand the workings of Linux in general ("learn and teach")
- encourage users to be creative ("roast your own")
- reduce the workload ("less is more" / "Keep it stupid, shithole")
- make it easy for users to share configurations with other users ("respect the work of others")
"Emacspeak" for the blind will get its own release as soon as it is updated in the repositories.
The other editions that are based on Jessie can easily be updated by issuing "upg" every few weeks.
