CWM: Swikee (586) Happy Weekend Notes
Download link: http://linuxbbq.org/iso/linuxbbq-swikee-20160715.iso
md5sum for ya: http://linuxbbq.org/iso/linuxbbq-swikee ... 15.iso.md5
Built on the upcoming Anorexia Beta, this greenish mess is the unstable brother of Egeszsegedre.
Some notes, please read them:
- live session logs in "user" automatically, password is "root" if needed
- the root account is active, too. Password, you guessed it: "root"
- install using "bbqinstaller" with sudo or as root
- after reboot, you should log in as "root" using "root" as password, and create a new user
- press Alt-z if you need help
- we have a dmenu-like slmenu for terminal applications, by the way. Alt-d pops it up when you are in a terminal.
- to remove these bindings, you have to edit /etc/inputrc as root and find the "bbq bindings"
- sudo dpkg-reconfigure tzdata console-setup keyboard-configuration, if you need it
Have fun. Oh, if you run into problems please post in the support section, not here and not in the "Alpha Testing" section. This is an X11 release, so problems might come from different directions ;)
Extra big thanks to wuxmedia for offering space on his server. Send this guy a beer!

The old LinuxBBQ tradition of giving releases food names: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swikee
Mouth-watering, isn't it.

Swikee didn't sound me as a food name because it is from the Hokkian chinese dialect, how I didn't realize! :)machinebacon wrote:The old LinuxBBQ tradition of giving releases food names: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swikee

I like the tradition of food names for releases, that's why my nickname is sausage in Spanish.

the soup (or broth? whichever one is the right word) smells like pussy, probably why us indo-chinks like it so much. ;)

Re: CWM: Swikee (586) Happy Weekend Notes
^^ yeah, the first XFCE release here at the LinuxBBQ was named "Chorizo" - that was quite exactly 4 years ago.
I needed a moment too to realize that Swikee is actually 水鸡 Shui Ji. Quite popular here in the south, usually with 天灯辣椒 and similar pickled green chilis, sour-spicy, but not my favorite dish :D
^ does it? The version here simply just smells like pickled bamboo or so. Not very fragrant, rather sour.

^ Yup, the coastal central-Java version has a sharper fish-like aroma. Certainly a lot more pungent than the one i ate in HK.
rice no more.

And if I remember correctly I had the idea for the name because I love chorizo, especially grilled.machinebacon wrote:^^ yeah, the first XFCE release here at the LinuxBBQ was named "Chorizo" - that was quite exactly 4 years ago.

just the whole thing on the bbq or, sliced in rounds?
Like very much chorizo too, even number 2 daughter likes it, admittedly not the very spicey ones.

Re: CWM: Swikee (586) Happy Weekend Notes
Off-topic: I will post it in the appropriate thread. Though you would need some original chorizo but there is a very easy fix for that. Yep, the best is the whole thing and no, Spaniards detest spicy food. It is a cliché that came from Mexicans that everything "Hispanic" has to be spicy. Though with my Balkan roots I love spicy food and you can buy hot chorizo, too.wuxmedia wrote:Recipe..! please?ivanovnegro wrote:I love chorizo, especially grilled.

Should't it bee Firefox by now? :)darry1966 wrote:
