Bloat i686 Release News

Unread post by machinebacon » Wed May 22, 2013 4:42 am

Here is LinuxBBQ Bloat i686. Based on Sid, this ISO features the snapshot of May 22, 2013 and kernel 3.9-3, the CLI apps known from Boner/Virgin, and as a special surprise the RoastYourOwn script to build up your system from scratch.

- i686
- systemd
- GRUB2 (should work for setups without RAID or LVM, please check the Debian BTS for more infos as of May 22)
- Openbox minimal session with LightDM preconfigured (Grillmeisters know how to change this easily)
- Installer and RoastYourOwn in root-menu
- minimal application list and low dependency count (uxterm, mc, ranger, ncdu, xlinks, roaster browser, nano, leafpad, ...)
- old and new BBQtools (bbqradio-gui, bbqtv, bbqusb to copy ISO to USB, bbqget to download 3rd party apps like skype, roastyourown package selector, ...)
- ISO size: 378MB

Code: Select all

wget -c http://linuxbbq.org/releases/Bloat/linuxbbq-bloat32.iso
md5sum: 69abe7838bbaebb702350125f0306e78
Linux users copy the ISO to USB stick via dd command. Windows users can try the Lili USB creator
If you burn to CD please use DAO and slower than 4x writing speed.

Note:
If you plan to install MATE, please add this line to /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mate.list

Code: Select all

deb http://repo.mate-desktop.org/debian wheezy main
and then perform as root:

Code: Select all

apt-get update && apt-get install mate-archive-keyring && apt-get update
..gnutella..

It's good to have the smell of a bbq back in the air. More flavor, less bloat :D
