Burgoo Release News

Unread post by machinebacon » Tue May 28, 2013 7:20 am

Not really new for some of us, but let's make this section complete - one release was put in the freezer last summer: Burgoo.

You ask WTF Burgoo is? It's a South African (?) game dish - so you can imagine with what this ISO comes: DOS-Games!

Yes, it's games on a stick, nothing else, no LibreOffice and not even a freaking file manager. Games games games, that's what the release notes say:

Code: Select all

### release codename
Burgoo
### version
fridge
### kernel
vanilla 3.2.0.3
### architecture
432 MB hybrid ISO, i686
### DE/WM
dosbox
### description
your very own, no-install, oldschool USB gaming system.
### packages
dosbox
lxterminal
gamepick menu (dialog)
spectrwm
mplayer2
ceni (to establish an internet connection before the TV script starts password: root)
TV script (second last position in the gamepick menu)
# bugs
Let's squash them -haven't met any, yet.
### note
copy it to a stick with dd and use it as live system.
Actually this is still in development, a few new (free) games should be placed on it, but I lacked time, inspiration and good will. At least the latter shall now be compensated: let it melt!
