MATE64 Release News

Unread post by machinebacon » Fri May 31, 2013 5:54 pm

After 6 months, MATE enjoys a new snapshot on the grill. Still built with the (c)older kernel 3.7-5 and systemd, the updated MATE image comes with following (new) features:

- systemd
- no display manager to prevent dependencies to GTK3
- MATE 1.6 native apps, exceptions:
- Roaster browser, (x)links2 browser
- the CLI apps from the CLIt release (yes -- smxi, inxi, testdisk, aircrack, blahblahblah included)
- gtk-redshift
- new themes and wallpapers by fog (Thanks Irene, we love you!)

supernice.
All statements are true in some sense, false in some sense, meaningless in some sense, true and false in some sense, true and meaningless in some sense, false and meaningless in some sense, and true and false and meaningless in some sense.
