That's Notion, and I think (!) aewm++ didn't pop up nicely either. Might be okay today, though. Anyway there will be test versions of Gangbang.

Question: e17 yes no? It's not gtk/qt ;) (oh not that I need it!)

maybe include dmenu and scrot? I know those are well integrated into spectrwm. I also vote for roaster and ceni. Roaster is good enough for showcasing a wm.

Okay I checked Oyster 0.5 yesterday, and noticed we have:
- razorqt
- metacity (w/ LXDE)
- compiz (w/ LXDE)
- e17 (causing migraine)
Kick or keep these? I'm for kicking, and adding some obscure ones instead. If we keep them, we need also marco and muffin :D

^ That, referring to Rho. Though I am surprised by Razor how good it is, with Openbox of course but then, Razor is a DE. So, just kick it, because it pulls the whole Qt suite. :P

Pidsley,

can you give me a list of WMs that compile fine on Debian Sid and that are not yet in the repos? I know you're more actively testing them as I am. I'll start packaging next week.

Thanks!

How many do you want? :)

Here are nine, with my favorites first. wmfs builds but will not run unless xbindkeys is deactivated, so maybe skip that one.

Is larswm on your list? It's in the repos and in the 30WM thread, so you might include it if you haven't already. It's weird, but interesting.

Pidsley,

perfection! Thanks a lot! larswm is IIRC there already, but I might be wrong. Nice, something to do next week :)

great stuff. in case anybody wants more info on these 'obscure' WMs, have a look at the Wiki. iirc all these were covered by 2MD on the #! forums, and his writings have been ported to our Wiki.

^ I guess (!) forums posts fall under Public Domain or Creative Commons. I mean, nobody writes a license under his posts. Hmmmm, wux.... sounds like a fucktastic great idea to me :D

(btw, I was pulling Rhosemary's leg there, if 2MD had a problem with it, he would have told us... I guess)

@mb: you already know the answer :D
at any rate, the guy pretty much vanished (or is he still on Arch forums or something...), and it would be a shame to waste his stuff. i'm sure he wouldn't object to it. at least we're putting his efforts to some good use.

Okay dear Roasters,
this week is dedicated to Gangbang. If you have ideas what to add/scratch, please post it here. The ISO will come out this weekend.

Included are:
- tmux / zsh
- the 25+25 CLI apps
- no GUI apps
- all the WM as they come OOTB (no branding)
- no DEs (CDE, razorqt, e17, XFCE, LXDE, GNOME, KDE, etc) - there are some mighty fine distros that are specialized on that
- no Display (Login) Manager: there'll be a dialog in which the WM can be chosen
- dzen2/xmobar/tint2/stalonetray included, but not automagically started

Not yet decided is which kernel to use. I've been thinking of adding the standard Debian kernel, or the Debian experimental, though we can go with siduction's towo kernel, towo's experimental kernel, aptosid's slh kernel or Liquorix. I don't want to start a poll, but if somebody has a good reason why to choose which one over another: I'm all ears.

Sounds good. I would go with Siduction's because it works, the last stable they offer.

Is there any way to become encryption during installation? Maybe an option to install the tor browser bundle too? Maybe in the next distros?
Cheers Jens
