^ :)) I have already written a README and covered *this* question as second one (first is "Why is there an uvesafb error at boot")

The ultimate aim, you know, is to be completely independent of g* and k* and q* applications and dependencies. A balance between GUI and pure CLI. That's why we have b* :)

This will be excellent. And especially fun the first time someone tries to install a g* or q* app and sees just exactly how much extra crap that pulls in.

Dear Meister Machinebacon,

It has been a while since I posted here at the Holly Grill...yes,yes,yes I have been flirting and prostituting myself with other distro's...I am sorry but I am addicted to Distro hopping.
So I spent all my Sunday afternoon (6/22/2014) trying to do a clean install of Pony Muncher on my 64bit system and I failed, I keept on getting this error:

Code: Select all

Warning: Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary.
Warning: Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary.
Warning: Partition 3 does not end on cylinder boundary.
Warning: Partition 4 does not end on cylinder boundary.

/usr/sbin/grub-bios-setup: warning: Embedding is not possible. GRUB can only be installed in this setup by using blocklists. However, blocklists are UNRELIABLE and their use is discouraged..
/usr/sbin/grub-bios-setup: error: will not proceed with blocklists.
I tried many different options of partitions on my HDD such as 1 partition only, Boot, Bootloader, Swap & Root, also tried Boot, Swap, Home & Root and always getting same error! I need your help please Meister!!!!! What did I do wrong? I dont get it! I will not be dual booting this will be my only OS for this machine...It just seemes as if the bootloader is not able to install for what I was able to notice during the installation process.

Why am I writing this in this section?

Well because I want to ask if you would please consider cooking a 64 bit version of Pony Muncher for the sake of me? and I know that this is NOT the cause for my failure.

Thank you Master Machinebacon and would like to extend my gratutude for any consideration to my petition.

Luis

1. get yourself an avatar
2. have you considered
a. your download is fucked
b. the iso is fucked
c. your medium is fucked
d. you are fucked

one of these options might be your solution, because the errors i am seeing are weird and seem, for all intents and purposes, fucked. of course i am not certain, but then again, can one ever be certain of anything?

Haha that's too cute really.

The ISO you downloaded might have a scratch somewhere :) Load yourself gparted and delete everything, make one big partition in ext4, and no separate boot/home crap. Be sure you choose /dev/sda1 for the OS, and /dev/sda for GRUB. Nothing else. No /boot. No encryption.

Why not go with the newest "Summer 2014" and build up from scratch? Pony Muncher, that's so 1990s.

I *could* produce a no-GTK3 version like "noob killah". In this case I am not responsible for any gtk3-related borkage.

hahahahaha...very funny

1) I will upload my avatar tonight.
2) YES, I downloaded a new iso and same problem.

Thank you Machinebacon: I will follow your partition advise and I will keep you grillers posted!

Thanks for the LOVE!
