Well, the lisp window managers don't work at all, and roaster could use improvement, so what can go wrong? Besides, you obviously have too much time on your hands if you are trying to build LFS. :)

After walking a dude through the most basic of kernel parameter manipulation, I need a few days to stay away from newbies. One of these days I'm going to lose my temper and then my #! forum posting will come to an end. :P

the idea to develop Roaster further sounds interesting. not that i have nearly the required Python knowledge to do it, but i see DJ will jump on it so i'm curious :)

Stupid question, putting it here because it fits the OP and I didn't want to open a new thread:

The new Trollinger remix is finished and is being tested (~40 hours uptime) with two kernels: liquorix (3.9-11) and towo (3.10-0)
I don't see any difference in everyday use, both have behaved extremely well (can't say much about heat issues, anyway I live in a subtropical area and build on a desktop PC) so the question is:

Which should be the default kernel? Liq, towo or both?

I say towo (3.10-0). What, really, are the advantages of liquorix for Trollinger? I'm not really knowledgeable about the benefits of liquorix vs. stock, etc. kernels, but I offer this:

Traditionally, this has not been the main focus of the Linux kernel. Ever flexible, the Linux kernel could always be modified to account for audio lagging and other multimedia abberations, but during these Dark Ages it was necessary to download low-latency kernel patches from obscure repositories, manually patch the kernel, and then re-compile and re-install.

These issues are ancient history now. The Linux kernel version 2.6.38.4 received a 200-line block of code that drastically changed its ability to work with near-realtime performance, and multimedia producers haven't looked back since.

* a conky switcher (hackish)
* a wallpaper downloader
* bbqscrot (frontend for scrot)
* a new bbqsystem tool
* maybe a refurbished Roaster
* systemd in version 204 and sysV completely removed
* dropped network-manager-gnome and his ugly brothers in favor of Ceni
* Update Manager/Upgrade Warnings tool refurbished
* colder CPU and quieter fan
* frontend to cpufreqd
* new 'default applications' downloader (like a first-start app)
* some more, I forgot :)
