RATPOISON/EMACS: Neckbeard (i686) Release News
This is the newest offering at the grill, Neckbeard, a 32-bit (non-PAE) remix featuring a default Ratpoison session directly kicking into a fullscreen Emacs24-X environment. No cruft added, no other GUI tools there.
neckbeard runs the newest 3.11-3 kernel from Siduction, and is a snapshot of October 6, 2013.
The live session comes with a populated .emacs configuration, this means that you can run the session from stick without the need of downloading the marmalade/melpa/elpa/git repos - their content is already put into the .emacs folder (this is by design). If you decide to install (sudo bbqinstaller), your manually created new user won't have these modifications in the .emacs file/folder (this is by design, too).
http://sourceforge.net/projects/linuxbb ... Ratpoison/
372MiB/392MB
New additions:
johnraff's stream-ripping radio player can be started with 'raffles' and it's included in the BBQ CLI Menu, "Multimedia" section.
Now the different termsaver features (terminal screensavers) can be accessed via the BBQ CLI Menu, too.
Keys:
Remember the shortcut "Ctrl-t ?" for ratpoison help and "Ctrl-t ." for 9menu. To shut down, press Ctrl-Escape, to close the X session apply Escape-Delete. This and more can be found in the ~/.xbindkeysrc file. Be sure to edit it! Certain keyboard layouts force X to quit when Delete is pressed, sorry for the inconvenience (I noticed it when switching keyboard layouts)

^ Down under it was already a shiny-bright Monday when it was pushed on the SF. But actually, the stats are sometimes a bit funny - some releases are enjoying more downloads than the actual population of the country is (Cyprus).

edit: removed a whole string of posts that had nothing to do with the release.

The beard is strong with this one. Makes my neck braids twitch.
