TMUX/EMACS: RSI (i686) Release News

Unread post by machinebacon » Thu Oct 10, 2013 4:41 pm

This is the concentration camp on a stick! Linux 3.11-4 booting into Emacs24, with w3m and git enabled, the repos cached in the user's home folder.
Download and put on a 256MB USB Stick with dd.
Boot and login with bbq/bbq.
Press F2 to switch to Ceni after login (F1/ F2 switch tmux windows, the tmux hotkey is Ctrl-a).
The most anorexic of all BBQ releases: no excuses, no distractions. No mutt and no MOC. No games and no tty2-6. No framebuffer, no X.

Use this system exclusively for a month and get an RSI, hair loss and a gold-plated neck beard. Take RSI with you, boot on any PC you find and impress jealous colleagues, drunk friends, hot girls, complete strangers. Be the coolest guy in town and notice the immediate increase in staying power!!11

Designed as live system, but installation is possible (sudo bbqinstaller). Very low dependency count (beating Tiny/Bass), no branding, no wallpapers, no themes, no build tools, no compilers, no python. Install size <800MB.

File size: 253MB

:)

Downloaded. Works great. The f1/f2 switching is pretty nifty. w3m works. emacs works. Bash works. Downloads in about 2 minutes on the connection here.

....so beautiful.

The Emacster Race is progressing as foreseen.

hairloss - done
beard - platinum on gold with silver trim

RSI just needs Hackers-like soundeffects every time you press a key, do an ls or watching htop do its thing.

Crash and Burn motherfucker.
