To be honest, I would have expected you'd install noob killah rather than pony munchah, but hey, freedom is in beer :D

Yeah, noob killah is on my todo list. But wife's loving Pony Muncher, and next week she'll take it with her around Italy for work. A proper test.

^ Muncher passed the test. Wife's happy, using ceni in every hotel she's been to, showing off her CLI skills to those crazy Chinese tourists. She actually likes it more than Tuxtrans and asked me if I could install it on her laptop.
Well, it's a sure pass I suppose. :)

Thanks Manuel, great to know it works smoothly on the netbook. BTW I noticed the same strange behaviour of ibus and fcitx (also in Ubuntu), so you are not alone.

Yeah, iBus is getting a pain.
On sid ibus-pinyin doesn't work, I have to use ibus-libpinyin (as the ArchWiki suggests). Have to try fcitx.

Have you tried SCIM recently?
In Chrome I use a plugin called "Google Input Tools", just FYI, works pretty well across all different languages :)

Haven't tried SCIM, always used iBus. Thanks for the tip about Google Input Tools, I'll check it out.
