PEKWM: Pickles Release News

Unread post by machinebacon » Sun Oct 27, 2013 6:55 pm

Just a little snack, nothing special: PekWM, built on the Honey-branch (no gtk apps), light and snappy, with a super-sexy theme, ranger with preview function (thanks Pidsley), w3m/links/dillo as browser bunch.

Allow 2 hours for the servers to sync
http://sourceforge.net/projects/linuxbbq/files/PekWM/
Filesize: 351Mb

Screenshots and some techno-blah follow soon. Good night ;)

As promised, a scrot, OOTB it's like this. lxpanel can of course be removed, the icons are 'Tango' which look a pinch better than LXDE's NouveXT or hicolor and take up less space. Please adjust accordingly.

As a heavy user of pekwm, as soon as I become aware of pickel bbq, I installed it in WM, and immediatley got a boner (this sound strange). I hope to get a hand on new SSD next week ... this is gona be my first install on real HW. Thanks, thanks, thanks.

It is a best birthday present, even if half a year too late (or too early?). Promise, will drink three beers to the spinner next friday... MB I presume.

Actually, I'm/we're trying to avoid industrial beers ... instead, we use hospitality of local pub with small brewery. Choose beers (as long as it is first from the left or second from the right):

Oh you can imagine, as German I am very aware of smaller breweries, unfortunately more and more are sucked up by InBev or similar corporations :/

I trust you and would indeed take the first, the forth and a slivo to wash the taste down :D

Did i mention before that linuxbbq totally lacks a brewing edition ? Everything is here already (it's in German though): http://dunkelbrauer.de/Software/Index.html or web-based here: http://www.xn--fangobru-6za.de/web20mash.shtml (haven't tried that one myself) I will gladly provide any help needed but am unable to build an edition myself.

don't think it has anybody's priority, just a nice idea that you might or might not like to pursue :)

You know what's still on the list?
- emacspeak GUI version (sawfish, how ironic)
- Rocks! Beta
- Bass64 upgrade
- Custard/Cream
- dead meat resurrection
- translators edition
and theeeeen beermaster.

No priority at all. I'll try that web based software next time and report back and i'll post some images of the equipment if someone is interested. It really isn't that hard nor is it expensive to brew your own beer as soon as you get the software to work which is a PITA (i have so far never heard of onewire until i started brewing and that industrial thermometer obviously is trying to drive me nuts every time). So having it preinstalled in BBQ would be really handy. But yes, the userbase would be rather tiny, i know that. And i'll stop to hijack this thread now, too.
