Re: Argentina78 (MATE) Release News
thanks wux, duly noted. should be set in /usr somewhere, forgot where, to override the Debian recommended settings at upg.

np masterbacon, i'm sure thats a bit beyond me, looks like i'll be changing to something simpler anyway.
Re: Argentina78 (MATE) Release News
Have been playing around with solusOS on old laptop and have developed a taste for gnome 2.3. Have recently resurrected a i5 laptop and am contemplating putting Argentina on it :). Where does the mate package come from? With updates is it up to 1.6 yet?

Re: Argentina78 (MATE) Release News
i was interested in upgrading seems the release is 'released' but it's not in debian -yet.
http://ftp-master.debian.org/new.html only one week in!
although i'm confoosed. seems it according to the website.
seems it's not an automatic update.
I will snapshot my system and try to upg over the weekend. try and post a how to.
edit preliminary install went very well. I was in I3 now i'm in mate, gotta love linux 8)
followed this on a clean (ie no mate 1.x nor gnome) install
http://forums.mate-desktop.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1485
will confirm with a MATE session later.
